In addition to designing functional and beautiful landscapes for homeowners, I also like to think of myself as an urban farmer. Since 2016, I've lived in a home on a small piece of land (.66 acres) in Longmont, Colorado. My yard has been my trial property that I use to explore, deepen, and test my knowledge of everything horticulture. I am slowly converting the former giant swath of Kentucky Blue Grass into a living, breathing, and richly diverse landscape that sustains critters and humans alike. When I am not working on landscape designs, you can usually find me digging in the dirt in my trial perennial gardens, processing fruits and vegetables from the garden, or soaking in the sun in the greenhouse. I've made a hobby out of planting trees: 20+ trees and counting including 10 fruit trees that have just started producing. Our farmette is also home to several laying hens, a small herd of minature dairy goats, and an onery geriatric kitty; all of whom keep us laughing.
Nothing is more satisfying to me than cooking a meal for my family and nurishing them with the food harvested from the little piece of planet earth we tend.
Cheers to Filthy Endeavors!

When you were little, did you have a special tree or perhaps a patch of clover to connect to when life felt out of balance? When I was a (onery) child, I was lucky enough to have found a hidden bed of moss among a small clearing of pines not far from my home which became my place to gather strength and resiliency at times when life threw me lemons. In my early twenties, I set up a tent on that mat of moss and made it my home. I didn’t ponder my attachment to my soft, damp forest flooring of moss, but rather I simply succumbed to it’s healing magnetic pull.
As I gain in years and wisdom, I continue to build an appreciation for how critical it is for all of us to have accessibility to natural spaces. I might not be able to give you a magical bed of moss tucked into a mature pine forest, but I hope I can play a part in helping you to create an outdoor space where you can retreat to when modern life is bogging you down; a space where you will feel renewed and rejuvenated and where you can laugh and connect with your loved ones as well as with all of the wonders of the natural world.
